Hi ,
I've never actually used the fax option in either XP or Vista but here's a link to the MS Support site giving full details of how to set up and use the Fax application in Win XP .

Thanks Cyber junkie.
I've already done all of that, but when I try to send a fax I get an Fax Note saying I do not have a fax printer installed.
The only things that are accessable on the File menu of the Fax Console are Import and Exit.
In the Tools Menu when I try to configure the Fax Printer, It just says No Fax Printer installed on the status bar. The fax printer status is not available on the Tools menu
Thanks in advance for your help,
Gary.
Hi Gary ,
Sorry for not responding more quickly , been a hectic weekend !
Try reading through this link - contains a workround to the specific problem
Error: Microsoft Shared Fax Driver not installed
Also make sure to have the latest drivers installed for your printer - in reading the above link I noticed that the fax component stores a cache of sent faxes - the above link also described how to clear this .

Thanks Cyber Junkie,
It must have been a corrupt file. I went ahead and uninstalled Fax and when i reinstalled it it could not find a file named fxscfgwz.dll on my computer. I located the file on the windows xp disk and every thing is working OK now.
Thanks,
Gary.
