Hey Slidetackle. I am glad you resolved your problem but the very nature of "forums" is to have open discussions for learning, and teaching. So others, perhaps with the same or similar problem, can learn something too.

How about coming back and posting the problem again, then tell us what you did to correct it?

    Digerati,

You are correct. I do apologize.

    Here was the issue:

An XP user account was deleted on a local machine. That account used Outlook to retrieve e-mails. When that account was deleted and a new one built, the user needed those old e-mails brough into Outlook under the new user name.

Here is how I resolved the issue:

Luckily in XP when you delete a user account, the user folder (docs, pictures, etc.) stays in tact (you can delete them in Vista). I looged on using the new user name and opened the Outlook Data file in the old user name folder (it is a hidden folder so make sure your view setting are correct). The path for that data file is below:

My PC > Local Drive > Docs & Settings > (username) > Local Settings > Application Data > Microsoft > Outlook > Outlook (it is a .pst data file)

Hope this helps anyone else who may have this issue.

Thanks for the quick reply. So this was a deleted Windows account - a little scary a deleted users data was so easily recovered, huh?

    Thanks again.
