Partition Cloning
I'm not sure it can be done I tried Ghosting but I ended up with the same everything which isn't what I want.
This is what I want I want to copy my existing IDE what I call "SAFE XP" which has nothing on it completely bare all stock except for my motherboard and sound drivers pretty much a backup XP in case something happens to my SATA XP which is what I have now.
But the problem is I have about 5 partitions on the SATA which I don't want to delete at all.
So here is the scenario I've tried Acronis True Image and it can only clone the whole drive I need to clone the partition of my safe xp to my sata drive while still keeping all my other partitons untouched it's very important that they stay unmodified. Now my SATA is 500gb and my IDE is 200gb so I can't save the partitons to my IDE they won't all fit. My sata xp and my safe xp partitions are both the same size 30GB what can I do to clone the safe xp partition to sata xp partition?

I'm confused.
You said you want to copy your IDE drive. I assume you mean to the SATA drive.
But later you said because the SATA is 500Gb, you can't save the partitions to the IDE because they will not fit. That says you want to go to the IDE, not from the IDE.
Then you said, "what can I do to clone the safe xp partition to sata xp partition?"
So which way are you going?
You also described the IDE drive as having "nothing on it", "completely bare" except for drivers - but then add that it is a backup XP. Well, if XP is installed on that drive too, then it is hardly bare. Are you intent on booting to this partition, or are you just backing up the files?
Why do you want a clone of the partition, as opposed to a backup of all the files and folders on the partition?
Did you try Windows own backup utility?

I want to copy a partition from the IDE to the same size partition of the SATA.

This is my problem I'm in the middle of rebuilding two computers I have an older IDE drive that I have what I call the safe xp which is just Windows XP Sp2 with no other programs but drivers for the motherboard. I have a Sata which I use now which has 5 partitions the main OS partition is 30gb.
I installed Vista Transformation pack and I think I messed something up because I installed it to the Admin account instead of a user account well now when I right click the taskbar and try to minimize WMP11 there is no option I've tried everything I could google nothing works and my quicklauch doesn't work it says it couldn't open toolbar or create toolbar.
So why don't I just do a fresh install you ask well here is the problem my 650 PSU just went out on my main computer and all I have now is a 450 PSU with only one Sata connection and I have the Sata as I mentioned before and my other burner is a Sata so I can't install to the sata drive with the burner connected and it's late when I get off so I can't just go buy another Sata extension.
So this is why I just want to copy the partition of my Safe XP to the sata or even create another partition on the IDE and install SP3 to it then clone it to my Sata

The manufacturer of your drive might have cloning tools available online. I know that seagate does because I had to use it recently but you have to have a seagate hard drive in your system. However if you are wanting to clone from one drive to a second so that you can put the second into another computer that won't work because Xp actually has to be installed on the hard drive in the computer that it will be operated on otherwise you will run into a lot of problems starting with the drivers. You might get by with copying an installation that doesn't have drivers installed but if you are going to do that you might as well just reinstall it. Besides XP's software licensing will recognize that it is now on a different system which is part of the problem. In addition if it is a manufactured computer (for instance dell) that originally had Vista on it there might not be drivers for XP. The "safest" way of setting up a windows system is to just reinstall it on the system instead of copying it from one computer to the next. Also you have to consider your licensing. Legally you will either need a second legal serial number or a multi license serial number [we can't help you with anything that isn't legal
]. Further more if the installation of XP is an OEM copy from a manufacturer it can only be used on the computer that it came with.
Now instead of just dismissing your problem with Vista maybe you should just fix it. I'd start by doing a system restore point and then try to uninstall the program if that doesn't work. Anytime you try to use customization packs written by someone other than MS you have the possibility of corrupting your system. They might even come with malware built in. I don't work in that section so I can't and didn't say that it does.
