Question xp problem...re usb mouse driver needed

    Hi members,
i am a newbie here and have a lil problem.
Trying to instal a new LS1 logitec laser corded mouse.
Problem1 is...getting an error code 39 which is either corrupted or missing driver.
Problem 2 is... asked for help from logitec home...and im asked for a value ..which takes the form of some kind of number eg: 10.00.

I have no idea whats happening and how do i find the value wanted?

    Hope someone can HELP.,

According to the Logitech web site:
Plug-and-play USB: So there's no need to install software. Just plug in the mouse to get started.
The only way to know what value/number the Logitech web site needs is to ask them.

Appreciate the thought as I understood that to be the case with computers under 3 yrs old.

But in this instance ERROR 39 is saying no driver/or corrupupted drive,

Most are standard plug and play....am i possibly installing wrong.?

cant get to logitec to find that value Q answer.

Thanks for trying....maybe you or other members can advise me.

Have you tried posting in the Logitech mouse support forum ? If not, give it a try.

The suggestion that i ask logitec what value is a good one with just one flaw.

Cant ask logitec nada without knowing the value they want.

have given all details relevant and still np where...
    sorry to be a pain.

Not Logitech directly, use the support forum I provided a link to.

it doesn't sound like a problem with logitech to me, as you haven't tried installing the logitech drivers (unless i have mis-read- sorry).

It may be a problem with the plug and play within windows... try doing an xp repair as there maybe some files missing or corrupted within XP..

    worth a try?!

    Hi ,

What SP do you currently have with your XP installation ? XP is known to have some HID ( Human Interface Device ) issues with certain makes of mice and keyboards . The HID hotfixes are avaliable on the MS update as optional downloads . Go to the MS update site , view avaliable updates and install any update that refers to HID - my MS wireless keyboard and mouse was useless on XP and Vista without the hotfix . I'm only guessing that this issue might also refer to USB devices also .
