I have a problem that started just yesterday Regarding bold text. As soon as I noticed parts of windows text become bold, I did a system restore. When the computer restarted, the problem was still there, (and kaspersky was complaining about corruped databases, which I updated) and I tried going into the appearence tab of display setting, to change the advanced properties. I did as much as I could, but I noticed that even when the Bold button of the "Menu" properties was unselected, The text in the preview was still bold. I unplugged the ethernet cable in case of a virus, started a virus scan with Kaspersky IS, and left it over night.

I came back this morning and the virus scan had completed, found some non-critical problems, and it says it hasn't deleted anything...
I plugged back into the network to try and search for some help online, but i did some small apperace changes, and restarted the computer, and all text was in symbols. I did some more small changes, and have mangaged to get the computer back to how it was before - with bold text everywhere.

Is this a virus? How can I fix this problem.

Oh I'm using XP media center edition by the way. Thanks in advance.

okay you should download Spybot SD from the spybot website The home of Spybot-S&D! if that yields no results then I'm not sure what to do.
