Ive been using Picasa successfully for some time, however, recently a good proportion of my photos have migrated to Microsoft Pictures. Im not sure how this has happened but would like to reverse the process has any one any thoughts as to a) how this happened & b) how i can get them back.
Many thanks in anticipation
Go to the Control Panel > Folder Options > View
Set the particular file extensions with your choice of program.
Thanks for your help but i think your assuming i have more computer knowledge than i have. Ive been into CP-FO & View but unsure of the final part as i see no reference to file extensions within View?
Can you explain please?
Kind regards
Sorry, my bad, am not using XP currently.
What you want is Folder Options > File Type.
Thanks, ive located File Type but what do i do now? - sorry i did suggest i was computer illiterate.

Hi, sorry I left out details.
What I assume happened is Microsoft Picture took over the opening function of your photo files.
Theses extensions are usually the following:
jpg | gif | bmp
You need to find these in the File Type list and reset the opening program to Picasa.
I believe the XP method is by right clicking and change program.
You may need to Browse the offered list to find Picasa.
Let us know if we can help further.
Added info, check the following file types.
bmp
gif
jpeg
jpg
png
Many thanks for your help
