I had "the Virus" Sasser. I removed it and scaned all drives. PC is now 100% clean but I cannot get the page for Symamtec.com to obtain updates etc. Several pages will not open I assume a file is corrupt but how can I solve this problem.

first off i would check your 'hosts' file. browse to 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc' and double click 'hosts'. choose select program file a list and select notepad. once loaded click edit and find and type symantec in there. if there is a line with it, delete the line.

try browsing again.
