    [Resolved]Getting BSOD

Hello, whenever I run the game Maplestory on my computer, it instantly gives me the BSOD.
I looked in the event viewer and it doesn't show any errors. The error it's giving me on the BOSD is STOP: 0x0000007F (0x00000008,0x80042000,0x00000000,0x00000000). I tried using the debugwiz but it said I had not installed the debugging tools for windows but I did.

    Navigate to: C:\Windows\Minidump folder.
If you see any .dmp files, zip all of them, and attach zipped file to your next reply.

Steps to begin the diagnosis of BSOD errors aka Blue Screen of Death

To discover the type of Errors the machine has encountered recently, use Event Viewer.
    1. Go to Start - Run, type eventvwr.msc, then Press Enter.
    2. When the Event Viewer opens, there will be two panes.
The left pane is for event categories (Application, Security, and System).
The right pane is for event messages (Information, Warning, and Error). (We want to find errors.)
    3. Left-click the Application category in the left pane and check for any error messages in the right pane.
You want to find the one(s) that occurred at the same time your system encountered the problem you have posted about.
    4. Repeat the previous step for each category, or until you find an appropriate error to investigate.
    5. Double-click the error message to bring up the information.
    6. Click the third button on the right side of the information window (copies information)
    7. Paste the information here

Also turn off the auto restart function:

How to turn off Auto Restart in XP

    Right click on My Computer

    Select Properties

Select the Advanced tab then the Startup & Recovery section

    Select the Settings button

Uncheck "Automatically restart" and then click Apply

This will give you a Blue Screen with the error message rather than restarting the computer.

Write down the error detail then use the reset button on the computer to restart.

Also while in this section change the Write debugging information setting to:

    Kernel memory dump

Basic information about these errors can be found here:

    Troubleshooting Windows STOP Messages

Then if your Blue Screen is showing a Memory Dump do the following:

Go to start | Search | All files and folders and type in .dmp in the All or part of the file name: box.
Note the location of your .dmp files.
If no .dmp files check for minidump.
Remember this location and the path that leads to it.

    Then:

    1) Download and install the

    Debugging Tools from Microsoft

All you need do is download and install this. Make no attempt to start or run it.

    2) Download and install this

    debugwiz

This is a DOS based batch file that will command the above Microsoft Tools.

    thank you Joe Hobart

    3) Open the Wiz & Browse to, or paste in the path to, your .dmp file.

    4) After the Wiz creates a Text document post it back to your thread.

Please do not attach it or post in [code]: just plain text: thanks.

An alternative "reader" can be found here (also requires the Debugging Tools from Microsoft):

    Who Crashed

    Post back your results.

The advantage of these tools is that it makes your logs viewable to all.

    As to your basic error:

Here is another MS article on your specific 0x0000007F (0x00000008 error.

Stop 7F, 0x00000008 (double-fault) error occurs because of a single-bit error in the ESP register

Please also try Who Crashed if the DeBugWiz does not work.

It said 'No crash dumps have been found on your computer'

DebugWiz says I don't have the debugging tools for Windows but I just installed them.
