XP crashes every time I watch video on the net...

    Hi everyone,

I was here a few weeks ago and Broni helped me clean my computer…Well now I have a new problem!!

When I'm watching a video or a movie on the internet, a message pops up that I must clean up my disk (C:\) for I have no space. I do that but my PC crashes none the less.

Could you please help me resolve this problem?

    Thanks
    Ippolyti

I don't know what the "158.740.480" is, but 151MB could certainly be your problem. What happens is your computer is downloading the video file faster than you are watching it. So the video file is being stored in a temporary file, then the video is being "spooled" to your graphics card in "real time".

Without enough temporary storage space, you get these errors. Since it appears you have lots of free space on your other drives, you need to tell your viewer to change its temporary storage location to one of them. It would hopefully be an option somewhere, perhaps under a Tools menu.

I would also clean up the hard drives of clutter with Windows (XP or Vista) Disk Cleanup, ATF Cleaner or CCleaner. If using CCleaner, uncheck the option to install the Yahoo toolbar during installation. Before first use, go to Options > Settings > Advanced and ensure Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours is unchecked. Know your site credentials (user names and passwords) for sites you frequent before cleaning; you may have to login again at next visit.

Oh you beat me too it. I was just working on this. Yes if that is the drive or partition that windows is located on then you have too little space for windows to operate. Extra note: I would use both because I have had ATF-Cleaner free up additional space that CC Cleaner missed. You should also clean out your recycle bin of anything not needed. Do you have addition hard drives? If so are your documents and installation files on the other drive? Do you keep a lot of files on your desktop? If your documents are on another hard drive what is on you desktop is still on your windows partition. In addition you need to consider what programs that you have installed and remove those that you don't need.
