    Direct X info:

    start Run... dxdiag

    XP should be 9.0c

    You need Vista for 10

    Windows 7 will have 11

    ................

As to Firefox someone else will have to help as I only use IE8.

I run Linux so I can't answer DirectX question. To change where you want your Firefox download to go
Click on Edit>Preferences>Main>Save files to, then click on the Browse button and Pick out where in MY Documents you wish to save the download to.

Something sure sounds wrong with that statement. A Windows user is gonna hafta work with you on that one.

    I'd suggest using IE8.

Even if you don't want to all the time use it for downloads.

Try tools then. Sounds like a older version of Firefox maybe. It may say options instead of Preferences.
