It took me a while to sort out which motherboard I had, but after a search and taking the side of the box, I found it was the KM400-M Deluxe. Clicked the VGA driver and now we are all sorted. Works perfectly now. I have even upgraded the RAM to 2GB which makes things a lot faster.
Thanks for all your help and guidence. I dont think I could have taken much more
i have a different problem. I am running xp 64 bit professional on acer 5002 aspire. Recently i plugged in an LCD projector to my computer and ever since there has been a problem with my resolution. Please see the attached image
In the screen properties settings tab, i see two monitors. one is my laptop monitor whose resolution goes up to my required resolution (1024x768, 60 hertz, 32 bit), whereas the second one which has been listed as default monitor cannot go beyond 800x600, 60 hertz, 8 bit.
How can I change the default monitor to be my laptop monitor and not the LCD monitor. I want this done because I think this is the source of my resolution problem. Inspite of the resolution being listed as 1024x768, screen resolution has become very bad.
