I was browsing a torrent site of which I dont remember the name.My kaspersky antivirus warned me of a trojan, I blocked it. I think it still got installed. Now I cannot run anything from Run, cannot search anything. Only control panel is opening but no option in it is working. Only mozilla and vlc player is working and all other programs are down. All the exe files have converted to lnk files. Even registry editor is not opening. I cannot install anything nor remove anything. Please help me. Its a big mess out here.

Thanks for your response. I tried to do it but was unable to do so as system restore has also become an lnk file. I also tried to install spybot but was unable to do so(even in safe mode) bcoz in normal mode it was asking which program to open it with and in safe mode with command prompt it started installing but it said server name error or something like that.
Please tell some other remedy if available...

Try HijackThis and post a log in the HJT section.

thanx dear.. I did so using cmd. I opened it using Task manager.It made a log file. since I am a newbie here please tell me where is the HJT section and how to go there.

Hey guess what suddenly its improved. Now I can install a program but cannot uninstall it, cmd is working but not command(from Run). When I try to unistall anything it says windows installer is not accesible even though I have installed it again.. Please help..
