    Question Ntldr.com Problem

    Hi All
Recently I have deleted 2 partitions on my hard drive, made one big one, reformatted it (not quick format) and reinstalled XP Home. Although the system runs fine, when I click on any drive I get an error message "ntldr.com is not a valid Win 32 application" and the icon will not open. I can access the drive using right click explore menu. Could this file be corrupted in some way? I read other topics on this about copying ntldr from my XP CD via the recovery console. But I am worried I will lose the ability to boot the PC so I thought I would ask first. Hope you can advise, thanks!

    Is this the error:

    "C:\resycled\ntldr.com is not a valid Win32 application"

If so follow the instructions below:

    HijackThis
    --------------------------------------------------
Please read THIS and after completing the steps outlined post a HijackThis log over in that section along with a brief description of your problem.

Do not post HijackThis logs in this section please.

    Hello Again Jephree
I fixed it and the problem was 4 viruses!
When I was using Vista (I have a dual boot PC with both XP & Vista) I decided to do a scan of the XP drive using AVG (I have PC Tools VC on the XP drive and had scanned it, but found nothing). In a temp file in My Documents I uncovered 3 Trojans and something called Crytpo.

After I returned to XP all was well, I did still download Hijack This! and will keep it around for the next screw up. Hopefully though, that wont happen for a while. Thanks again for the advice Jephree.

    Kind Regards
    Gerry
