Hi
I have an hp pavilion a347x which had a virus i install SuperAntiSpyware. Ran it but it froxe. restarted pc ran it again but it froze. so I decided to do a recovery which I did and it. Told to restart which I did then was going thru the registration process and when it came to the part that says what's your computer name i input name and click continue after a while nothing else happened and it stood like that for more than 30 minutes so had to power shut down.

need help

What exactly happens now when you start it?

I already tried the links above but no help.

now when i start the pc first i get the hp window, then the winodws sp with the logo and the green boxes scrolling by, then the welcome winfow and it just stays there.

I do have a windows xp home edition cd which i purchased a long time ago can i use it to restore the pc

What happens if you press Ctrl+Alt+Delete on the Welcome Screen?

If nothing happens try doing it twice i.e. Ctrl+Alt+Delete+Ctrl+Alt+Delete

If nothing happens try booting into Safe Mode:

Can you get into Safe Mode?

If all the above fails you might be able to use the Recovery Console via the XP CD but let us know about the first steps mentioned first.

I tried the Ctrl+Alt+Delete on the Welcome Screen but nothing happens.
i rebooted and the pc started up, so i ran ran superantispyware but it froze, could not install spybot search and destroy, ran malwarebytes anti malware but it froze also. Oh can not connect to the internet.
What else can i do

Can you get into Safe Mode?

If so try scanning there.

Safe Mode with Networking should enable you to connect to the internet unless the problem is deeper.

I have some cd's with winsock fix, ie fix, tcpip_fix, and xptcp/ip repair tried all but still cannot connect to internet .
i am able to scan with malwarebytes but taking a long time but at least it is scanning.

just one question the program is scanning a bunch of files label
temp(seven numbers in this space).bat just wondering what do these files do
