You have the XP CD in the drive?

Sure do...there's no lite on the drive so I can't tell if it is even trying. Funny cause there's one on the floppy.

If there is no light on the CD drive it could be a hardware issue.

Before going inside the box and if you have a few floppies (6) you can create an XP boot from floppy but still the CD drive will need to function afterwards.

Found out this morning the issue was a fried capacitor on the motherboard....took it to my computer guru in Dallas and he swapped in a new one for me...all is back to normal.
