    cTicketManagerWnd.msnmsgr.ext

Just out of the blue when I start the pc, without even connecting to the 'net, i get the error message "CTicketmanagerWnd: msnmsgr.exe" - unable to load, so i have to close that and then close "send error report?" before doing anything else.

How can I get rid of this?

    Is this Vista?

Do you use the Live Messenger?

If you want a quick fix run a System restore to a point prior to the problem.

    System Restore
    --------------------------------------------------
You might try a System Restore to a point prior to your problem:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

    How did it not work?

    Did it fail to restore?

Or did it restore and the problem persists?

    "Just out of the blue"

You did nothing new? New program? New settings? New updates?

As I am "out the door" for this day I will just add one "work around".

Go to start Run... msconfig > startup

Look for: msnmsgr or similar and de-select or remove it from starting.

On reboot you will get a box saying you are in diagnostic mode etc.

Just click the little box that says "Don't show me this again".

Now if this still does not work and if you have Outlook Express set to start automatically go into Outlook Express settings and uncheck the box that says: "Start Windows Messenger with Windows".

I did what you said about start run .....mscnofig etc. and it worked!!!!! Just one more question....

Before finding your site I downloaded Registry Patrol V3.0 done a quick scan but was too scared to join and correct all the problems as I friend mentioned it didn't work for them. If I remove this programme from my computer will it take away other dll files that I might need elsewhere?

Thanks again for the help with msn.msgr.exe

If you uninstall Registry Patrol, it will only remove the dlls it installed.

Was looking through thissite for Windows XP User Log On question and found one. Followed the prompts to remove the Log On prompt i.e. go to Start, Control Panel, User Accounts etc. when I hit the key for Change the way user log on/off it came up with a message.

"A recently installed program has disabled the welcome screen and fast user swtiching. To restore these features you must unistall this program. The following file name may help you identify the program that made the changes RtlGina2.dll"

I done a search for the file and it was under C:\Windows\System32 (Application Ext), these are hidden files and you must not remove as they are used to make the computer run.

What can I do to by pass this User Log On process and go straight to the desk top?

    Once again, thanks

    First do this:

Fix Windows® XP Logon/Restore Welcome Screen

    Then:

    1) Click on Start
    2) Click on Control Panel
    3) Double-click on User Accounts
    4) Click on "Change the way users log on or off"
    5) Uncheck "Use the Welcome Screen" (note: this will also disable "Fast User Switching")
    6) Click on Apply Options
    7) Close the User Accounts window and the Control Panel
    8) The next time you reboot your computer, the classic login prompt will be used

If you have a password set you will still need to enter that password.
