    No internet connection - network

My computer is hooked up to our work/small office network. I can see and share files with the other computers but for some reason cannot access the internet. We have a T1 line, and no one else is having the problem. This started last Monday. My computer decided to do updates including SP3. The computer locked up so I had to shut it down then bring it back up. Ever since I have been unable to access the internet. I have checked all the settings and all are as they should. At one reboot, I got a message stating that I lacked an ip address. So I renewed the address but it didn't fix the problem. I just have limited connectivity for some strange reason. I brought the computer home and got the same problem on my home network. The only cure I have read online so far is to reformat my hard drive. Although this is something i could do, it really is a last resort. Anyone else have this problem? Help!

Try a System Restore prior to your update issue.

The SP3 should have created a Restore Point but you can also go before it if you feel the need.

START > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

That should clear it up but if it doesn't the next step would be to reload your computers LAN drivers from the manufacturers web site or your Recovery Options.

You have probably tried this. Fire up the Control Panel, Double-click Network Connections, Right-Click Wireless Network, and click Repair.
