xp password problem

    xp password problem

    hi got my girl a computer from a company that was shutting down it got xp pro loaded on it but one big problem is when i boot it up it all seems well then you have to press ctrl + alt and del then it carrying on loading up and a small grey box appears with the persons name who computer it was as user name then it asks for password which i dont have ????? it not the normal xp password screen were different user can log on it more like a school or library computer log in can any one please help on how to by pass this or turn if off as i dont have a xp disc many thanks paul

    Although I would like to help, I have no way of knowing that you are not trying to crack someones PC.

    To the best of my knowledge this forum along with other reputable forums do not support security cracking.

    ok mate understand the problem is the company gone under with the credit crunch ! ill try and battle on with it and see if i can fix it thanks paul

    Thanks for your understanding, and yes, it is against the rules here and any reputable forum that does require proof of identification.

    But beyond that, you said,

    ...then you said,
    i dont have a xp disc
    If you don't have the disk, then you don't have a legal copy of Windows anyway. That means you need to take the money you saved by buying a used computer and using it to buy a legal copy of Windows. Alternatively, you can use one of the many versions of the very able and *free* Linux alternatives.
