Is your XP media retail or OEM Restore media, or a burnt/slipstreamed copy?

Have you booted with it before?

Your sentance seems to run on into a couple of parameters. Do you mean the machine has no floppy drive, or, it does have a floppy drive but it's not listed/chosen in the bios?

If you're not using floppies to boot then you can remove the floppy drive from the boot order in the bios.

The following is apart from the boot device order.

If the bios lists a floppy drive, and there is none, be sure to set it to NONE. This will be on the first/main screen where time/date, hard/optical drives etc are listed. If the bios lists a drive as being present, even if there is none, Windows will load "support files/drivers" for that device, which consumes machine resources.

Post back if this clears up the booting from CD issue.
