Is your XP media retail or OEM Restore media, or a burnt/slipstreamed copy?... when i put the xp disc in and boot up it says press any key to boot the cd drive when i press the key nothing happens ...
Have you booted with it before?
hello dan thanks for replying my media is a retail and i have booted before with it i did restore my floppy drive in my computer but i do not have a floppy drive in my pc in the bios and reloaded my disc and it booted up i dont know how or should i remove this floppy disc option in my bios
Your sentance seems to run on into a couple of parameters. Do you mean the machine has no floppy drive, or, it does have a floppy drive but it's not listed/chosen in the bios?... i did restore my floppy drive in my computer but i do not have a floppy drive in my pc in the bios and reloaded my disc and it booted up i dont know how or should i remove this floppy disc option in my bios
If you're not using floppies to boot then you can remove the floppy drive from the boot order in the bios.
yes sorry dan i mean my machine has no floppy drive in i will remove it from my bios cheers dan....
The following is apart from the boot device order.
If the bios lists a floppy drive, and there is none, be sure to set it to NONE. This will be on the first/main screen where time/date, hard/optical drives etc are listed. If the bios lists a drive as being present, even if there is none, Windows will load "support files/drivers" for that device, which consumes machine resources.
Post back if this clears up the booting from CD issue.
ok will let u know thanks for that bud.....
it as resolved the issue dan removing the floppy from the bios thanks for your help......
