Hello Everyone, and a Happy New Year to you all!

I am trying to reset my computer to an earlier date but after the computer restarts I get the message:

'Computer cannot be restored to a new date.'

I have installed All the XP updates but this has made no difference.

Does anyone know of a way to get the 'restore' system to start again or must one reset the system, which I do not really want to do?

how far are you trying to go back?

have you got norton by any chance?

Try System Restore from Safe Mode.

My apologies for not replying sooner, and thank you for replying. I could not restore to any date; the same in Safe mode.

Fortunately I always have a restore HD with my saved system on it, and so restored back to normal. Everything is OK except............which I will put into a new thread.
