Did you re-install the card?
Did you do a clean install of xp; a repair; or just a system restore?
Does everything else work ok?
'create overlay failed'

I tried re-installing it, but I got the same results
I used a system restore disk to get my computer working
and everything else is working fine.
I get another message when I try to use the dvd player it says
'unable to connect subpicture renderer'
-
'unable to connect subpicture renderer'
These messages occur when problems related to Microsoft DirectX runtime occur. In most cases, re-installing DirectX will eliminate these messages.

I still get that message 'unable to connect subpicture renderer'

what are the specs of the DVD drive? (make; model; etc.)
what are the specs of the Graphics card?
does your XP wizard come up when you try to use the drive or are you under a third party program?
