No sound on Internet videos
I can play my music DVD`s etc but if I wish to see a video clip on the Internet I don`t have any sound. The sound bar moves across but nothing happens.
Have had the young grandson staying and this problem has only risen since he was on my PC. Operating system Windows XP.
Any help appreciated.

I am now having the same problem. Did some kind of scan/repair (don't remember which product - System Mechanic? RegCure?) and it killed my online audio. But Windows Media Player will play from my files just fine. Like the above user, I'm on XP.
And while I'm at it, I have never been able to make my mic work. Even got a new mic thinking mine was broken. I'm wondering if this and the above problems might be related, but I really don't know how to set up the mic so I might just have a wrong setting somewhere.
Any help would be appreciated!

If using IE (neither post outlined the browser being utilized) click on Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, Multimedia. Is there a checkmark in the box for Play sounds in webpages?

You should start your own thread as opposed to jumping into some one elses.

Hi, Dan!
Thanks for the info. My sound is running now.
I thought I was helping the other person since their post wasn't answered and we had the same issue. Wasn't trying to hijack their post. Thanks for letting me know that's not the right thing to do. Obviously I don't use forums much or I guess I would know that.

For any one else visiting this thread with similar problems,
Reading through a few other forums regarding loss of sound within IE or Firefox, there seems to be a lot of advice to reinstall browsers or drivers. Before you do this, have a try at simply unplugging the speaker jacks and plugging them back in. Some sound software will recognise when a jack is unplugged or plugged in and reconfigure automatically.
