xp wont respond
i have a freezing problem. well lately my system just suddenly freezes and stops responding. most of the times i have real player and firefox open. i would try to get out task manager out to end some task or shut down but it takes really long for it to show up and when it does show up it does respond as well. nothing works really.
last time...a few minutes ago i waited like 30 mins just to see if it'll respond. mouse is scrolling fine. but the programs arent responding. oh...i see on task manager that cpu usage is 100%. which is odd isnt it? i was just using firefox and real play and messengers are there as well.
i have amd athlon 64 bit 2.20 ghz
1gb Ram
Win XP
Whats wrong and what can i do?

I would start by cleaning up the disk drive and then run defrag.
Also check the size of the virtual memory paging file. The recommended minimum size is 1.5 times the RAM on your computer, and 3 times that figure for the maximum size. For example, if you have 256 MB of RAM, the minimum size is 384 MB, and the maximum size is 768 MB.
Another thought, it could also be caused by spyware ...Check using Lavasoft Ad-Aware

You can try running this for a couple hours to make sure your ram is ok.
