    Slow computer, laggy graphics

hi there, hoping someone can help me!

i recently restored my laptop to factory settings due to problems i was having with audio.

since then my computer has been rubbish! when i click on something it takes a few seconds for it to respond and when i try to play my favourite game - world of warcraft - i get high latency and low fps, and even the opening screen is laggy, i had no problem with this at all prior to the restore. the only upgrades i have made to this computer is i replaced the 512mb ram with 2 gig and it ran great on that till the restore. i attempted updating the graphic driver and my puter went to bluescreen in warcraft,i tried updating the chipset driver and my pc crashed completely and i had to format again. can you help?

i posted this in the virus/hijack this thread previously but my computer is clean

edit: i have an acer aspire 1641WLMi

i also ran the pc pitstop driver scan and i updated the modem drivers but that was it. no change so far

    thanks in advance

    Claire

Perhaps there is a conflict with another driver recently updated. See:

I've got a similar problem, every now and then for just 2 seconds, the sound and video in WMP or any online streaming video skips a little. I found out it is actually caused by my network adapter

sorry took so long for me to get back to you,

i updated the network adapter also, and i changed a setting in warcraft that stopped it using lots of system resources when it was minimized

it seems that bad lag has been a common problem since patch 3.0.2 of warcraft, i adjusted the graphics settings and everything is a-ok now. weird tho since my desktop hasnt had any trouble...
