hello im new to this forum (registered like 3 sec ago) but i had came by this forum about 10 times before, finding other people who had some of the same problems ive had.
i decided i would join cus it seems like u guys are really helpful ^_^
ok heres what is going on:
i got into some crap with spyware and other nonsense so i totally reinstalled windows xp
after doing so i have no sound at all. I looked up possible ways to fix this but non prevailed.
I tried My Computer>Properties>Device Manager and deleting multimedia audio controller and letting windows tryn fix it out. that didnt work i just got a message after my computer tried to install it saying it couldnt be installed because i didnt have the right software or somthing...? i turned my sound on in BIOS that didnt do anything. I tried going to the Dell website and downloading an Audio driver for my computer and that didnt do anything either.
anyone have a clue to what is wrong with my computer? im a music lover and i cant listen or make my music with no sound on my computer >< please someone help me get sound

Fill us in a little more? Model of your dell computer? Laptop/desktop? What are the errors that occur when you try to play an audio file?
-
my computer is a dell dimension3000 desktop computer i havent tried to play any audio files i just kno that i was on myspace and no music would play from there and i didnt get sound from youtube either. all my sound options are turned up ><

I would recommend playing an audio file just to check. It could be something wrong with the browser. Have you updated your adobe flash player?
-
i installed mozilla firefox because i like it alot better and no sound with either browser i dont eveng et the start up jingle when i start windows. i tried to play a song in limewire and im getting no errors and no sound.
yes i installed the newest adobe right when i reinstalled windows.

Have you tried to download the drivers from your MB CD?

Sorry for the tremendously late reply. When I replied you it was about 2am my time and I had to sleep so there was a delay. And tatyana = emoScreamo?
Drivers & Downloads
I know you said you downloaded Dell drivers, but is this the one you downloaded? These drivers are specifically for your model anyway. Can you try playing the file in Windows Media Player? Sorry I wasn't specific enough I didn't expect you to play the file in Limewire.
After you've tried playing a file and it fails (with or without error), try going into your Event Viewer and see if there are any red crosses under the System or Application tab that coincides with the time that you played the song.
Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer
Also, under Device Manager, are there any yellow exclamation marks?
