Various places. Some are e-mailed to me by my co-workers, and some are from the internet.

Any pattern, which videos cause a problem?

It is all the video files in only a few of my folders. If one file in the folder will not work, then none of them will. But I have about 50-60 folders of videos and the error is occurring in 7 of them. So far, the types are .mkv .avi and .dvd.

But there are video files of this type that do play without a problem. I can't see a pattern, but I am worried about this spreading or having to go back and work from the beginning on files I had worked days on.

All of these files were backed up on my home computer, but obviously I did not back the files up each day. The files on my home computer have the same problem.

This should be clear, though...When I backed up the files, nothing was wrong with them. Suddenly the same file on two different computers is acting strange. I don't think it would be anything good.

I went ahead and deleted the problem files, work and all. I received the raw files again, and they are working fine, thank you for all of your help.
