Fresh Windows XP install
This is a fresh Windows XP pro install, fully updated to sp3 all patches etc.
#1 Ok suddenly I'm getting nVidia driver issues, I disabled my onboard gfx card as well as turned it off in bios. Right now i have the 93.71 driver installed but when I try to update it from the nVidia control panel I get this error "System update does not support the system drivers for your system" Also before I rolled back to 93.71 driver set when I would load the desktop my gfx would go crazy and scroll a bunch of colorful lines.
#2 "IIS is not installed" this error is appearing when I try to install some DevExpress components for C# 2008.
Maybe its the SQL server that MS Visual Studio installs?
Edit: I think its because the DevExpress has demos for ASP.NET (solved i think)
#3 Trying to load the Control Panel from My Computer would crash explorer.exe
My idea is that because the drivers apparently don't support my system when I try to load the Control Panel it's trying to load the nVidia Control panel and crashes.
Any ideas?

#1--Have you rolled back to the older drivers? You might need to uninstall Sp 3 or reinstall XP w/out installing SP 3 as this could be your problem with the drivers. You also might just need to stick with the older drivers.
#2--From the start menu click "set program access and defaults" and then on the left click Add/remove windows components. This will bring up the Windows Components wizard. Find the entry that says "Internet Information Services (IIS)" and check that box. Make sure that the box is white instead of grey & has the check mark. If it is grey with a check box click on details in the lower right hand corner. Check all of these boxes & then click on the last entry the "World Wide Web Web Services" & again click on details. Again make sure & check all of the boxes, & then click on ok, and then ok on the other box. Then click on next. This will install IIS. You might have to insert your XP disk so have it on hand & insert it if windows prompts you for it. That should take care of this issue. You will probably have to restart windows.
#3--Don't know anything about. Maybe taking care of the graphics drivers problem will take care of this. However you can click on the start menu, & then run. In the box type control & see if it comes up that way. If not browse to c:/windows/system32. Find the files nvcpl.cpl & nvtuicpl.cpl. Change to files names to nvcpl.cpl.txt & nvtuicpl.cp.txt (all you are doing is adding .txt to the file name). Confirm file name change. This will keep the nvidia control buttons from showing up in the control panel. Try to open up the control panel. If this doesn't work then remove the .txt from those files.
Hope this helps.
