Hello. I am trying to refomat and when I try to install windows xp it keeps getting stuck at copying files and never seems to go past it. I'm pretty sure that my hardware is ok because I reformatted recently due to a virus (and am reformatting now because of another virus ). I have tried to delete and create a partition but that did not seem to work. I have also tried to run smartdrv off the cd then run winnt but it still keeps getting stuck at copying files. I have seen similar threads but no real solutions. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to fix this.

Try KillDisk first:

Active@ Kill Disk Hard Drive Eraser. Low Level Format.

Also try the hard drive manufacturers diagnostic if KillDisk doesn't resolve it.
