    Lightbulb Audio Drivers

HELP!!! I deleted my sound driver by mistake and now my computer makes no sound. I have no idea how it works. The only clue that I have is that as I was clearing space on my computer and I saw this thing called "SoundMAX" and I figured it was just some file I didn't need.

I tried to find the driver but I would download these things that would say "Driver not found, please reboot and try again". My search ended with a file called "driver16525.zip" But I can't get my hands on it. Can someone help?

The best source for audio drivers is the computer manufacturers web site.

If the computer was custom built then go to the motherboard manufacturers web site.

Go to the driver download section and insert your model number. The drivers will be there.

If you are one of the very few people that actually installed a PCI "Sound Card" then you should have the drivers CD for that card or again go to that manufacturers web site.

    I don't get it...I really don't get it, Do I...

    a) Have to open my computer up to find out the motherboard manufacturer?
    b) What module number...on the motherboard? Is it on the computer?
    c) Lol, what will it look like?
    d) What in the name of God is PCI!?
    e) Where in my computer will this thing be?

Sorry but I know nothing of computers, so it's expected that I don't understand exactly what you mean.

Is your computer a Dell or HP or IBM etc.? Or did you build it your self?

If the former what is the exact make and model?

    Dell Dimension 4200? etc.

There must be a label on it somewhere.

You could also try Belarc as to "System Model".

Anyway for example if your computer were an HP or Compaq go here:

    HP Support & Drivers

And supply your model number or scan for it and get your AUDIO driver.

    Or here for Dell:

    Dell Drivers and Downloads

Or if some other manufacturer go to GOOGLE and type: (manufacturer name) Support Drivers > GO
