No Audio Device
Hi,
after going through many trials, tribulations, and attempts to fix my computer, i was left with only one option, to fully restore it back to factory settings. i thought this would cleanse all of my problems. now i have no sound.
i have tried running services.msc and windows audio is correctly enabled.
it is likely to be a missing sound driver, but i have no clue how to determine where i can get this said driver.
i think it is important to note that it appears that none of my usb ports in the front or back of my computer are active.
any help would be appreciated. thanks

Audio drivers
--------------------------------------------------
The best source for audio drivers is the computer manufacturers web site.
If the computer was custom built then go to the motherboard manufacturers web site.
Go to the driver download section and insert your model number. The drivers will be there.
If you are one of the very few people that actually installed a PCI "Sound Card" then you should have the drivers CD for that card or again go to that manufacturers web site.

What is the exact make and model?

I know my pc is in the 3000 J series, but beyond that, i dont know how to tell its exact name or machine type...

Did you try the link above?
"Auto Detect This System"

Main point being after you reinstall the OS = XP you need to reinstall the drivers.
Audio / USB / LAN / etc.
Hope you can find your model via the Lenovo site.
