    Cool Event Error log problem

My event log is filled with the following errors:-
    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Rasman
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 20063
    Date: 17/07/2008
    Time: 17:39:54
    User: N/A
    Computer: ********
    Description:
Remote Access Connection Manager failed to start because the Point to Point Protocol failed to initialize. The specified module could not be found.

For more information, see Help and Support Centre at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
    Data:
    0000: 7e 00 00 00 ~...

As usual with the above cant find any help or support on this error. Did find a link on Google that said the following; to get your settings back to normal, simply go into Control Panel ->
Add/Remove Programs and uninstall hot fix 823803.
Have downloaded Q282784 and ran this to check on the hot fixes that are on this pc, 823803 is not listed.

Can anyone help cure this error, many thanks in advance?

Here is something you can try and although you should set a Restore Point I doubt that it will have any adverse affect.

It was an old RASMAN issue pre SP1. Here are the details:

You cannot create a network connection after you restore Windows XP

The premise is to delete the RASMAN keys 25 & 26.

    Again backup your registry first.

    I recommend ERUNT:

    ERUNT and NTREGOPT

I may have found a solution to this. What I did was, Go to Control Panel/Administrative tools/Services/ highlight DHCP client in the list and click stop. Then click Start. There have been no errors for the past hour so will see how things are looking after 24hrs. got a copy of ERUNT just in case :-)
