Computer Lights up, fans spin, BLANK SCREEN
I recently put in a new Core 2 Duo 2.5 ghz CPU, and a 650 watt PSU. Both are compatible with my MB, LGA 775. As soon as i went to start it up, my lights came on, all the fans spun and it made the usual startup noises. But, the monitor stayed a blank screen, like a standby screen after being idle for too long. I tried replacing the items with my old CPU / PSU, and same problem occured, also the monitor worked on a different computer. I tried different vid cards as well with no luck. Anyone have help? ty

Any BEEPS?
Does the monitor power light change at all?
Is there ever a notice of "NO SIGNAL INPUT"?
Put the old stuff back in and clear the CMOS then try again.
Just because your CPU is the same pin type (LGA 775) does not necessarily make it compatible.
Often BIOS upgrades are required as well. What is the make and model of the motherboard?
What is the family of that new CPU? Wolfdale? Kentsfield? etc.

No beeps, its a wolfdale core 2 duo CPU, and the monitor is orange around the button, like its in standby mode.
EDIT: mobo is compatible, double checked the bios, What is CMOS?

What is the make and model of the motherboard?
Look in the manual under: Clear CMOS.
It sets the BIOS to default.
Also check for BIOS updates.
That being said the orange/amber light should flash green for a second and you should get a "NO SIGNAL INPUT" message on the screen assuming that the monitor is indeed functional and connected correctly.
Even if the computer is faulty the monitor should behave as above.
If it does not it makes the monitor or its connection suspect.
Also if it were the computer itself being at fault it should at least BEEP unless the motherboard itself is faulty.
