XP can not login neither in normal mode nor in safe mode

I have got a PC (XP Home Edition) from one of our client , I can not log to the admin account (no password set for the admin, hit enter).

I tried that in normal mode and safe mode but no success.

Although I followed the instruction in post #4
    http://www.d-a-l.com/help/windows-xp...safe-mode.html

but I could not get it work.

I have read many threads is other forums , but I did not find them related to my issue.

I guess the computer hit by virus.

    Thanks

Have you tried using the repair tool on the XP CD/DVD?

if your looking at it having a virus might be worth taking the harddrive out and setting it up as a slave on another computer. That way you should be able to get to the information and scan for viruses etc.

even if you can't logon to it, you should be able to scan it for viruses.

It's a good thing to have BartPE to hand; it will let you make images of the hd, and access files when your widnows is corrupted and stuff. I had to use on my work experience.. Mighty fine thing indeed.
    Glad its sorted.
