    Uninstalled program by accident

    Hi.
Will system restore bring back a program that I have uninstalled? I downloaded a new demo version of a program to see if it was much better than my existing version, after 10 days it stopped working and I uninstalled it as it was not worth paying for the improvements. But now both programs have gone! The existing program contained a number of files that I was working on and it's these I want back. I could reinstall from the original disc but of course this won't help me. Many thanks for any suggestions.

Uninstalling shouldn't have deleted your files. If you use a file recovery program, it can scan deleted files that you have lost.

    Here is a free option:
PC World - Restoration File Management Download
If you know the names of the files, it will be easier to find. The details are on the download page.

    Welcome to D-A-L.

You can attempt a System Restore and see what comes of it. It should bring things back.

Also sometimes an uninstall will leave the programs folder in C:\Program Files. Check there as it's possible that only the programs files were removed, but left any data files you may have created with the program. It's slim, but have a look.

Hi again. Panic over. By using the 'Restore' program suggested by kevinzheng.101, I found a file I had deleted on purpose, and by going to the location that it had come from I found all my files still intact. Thanks for that. First time I've ever needed anything like that. I'll keep it for future use, but maybe it's time for a complete Windows reinstall. It'll only take a couple of days, and who needs sunshine and fresh air anyway? Thanks again for the suggestions, it's much appreciated.
