    Its not that xp doesn't support dx 10 as much as it is that dx 10 isn't designed for xp. There is a difference. MS has no intentions of releasing it for xp nor will they so any such attempts at doing so is basically a form of hacking. Because there is no official release of dx 10 for xp (which would be from MS) dx 10 won't work as well as it would on vista, if at all. Messing around with the operating system at such levels and forcing it to do something it isn't designed to do is more than likely to lead to system instability.

    Way to bring a year and a half old thread back to life.

    The reason XP will never have DX10 support is simply because it was the major selling point of Vista. But seriously, it's all about Win7 and DX11 now.
