    No Sound Card? so very frustrated

    just installed xp service pack 2. its telling me i have no sound card. and a bunch of other big yellow question marks by other drivers aswell.

    right now im just tryin to get the sound card working. here are specs...

    motherboard - unknown
    chipset - intel brookdale-G i845g

    multimedia audio adapter - Intel 82801db (m) ICH4 (-M) - AC'97 Audio Controller [B-O]

    help me!!! lol

    Download and unzip the file attached below and then leave it for now.

    Open up Device Manager by pressing Windows Key and Pause Break on Keyboard, click Hardware tab, click Device Manager. Under sound, video and game controllers double click the troublesome sound card. Click the driver tab.

    Click Update Driver
    Select No not this time, click Next.
    Select Install the software from a list or specific location, click Next.
    Select Don't Search, click Next.
    Click Have Disk
    Click Browse
    Go to the folder where you unzipped the download files and double click oem34.inf.

    Then click Ok and complete the steps and reboot your PC.

    Agree to any dialogue boxes that says the driver hasn't passed Windows logo testing.

    You should now have working sound.

    i love you! lol... seriously thanks though. last night i was so frustrated i could have thrown my pc in fire. i usually pretty good with these problems.
