    Wireless Icon

I'm having a few troubles with my wireless network icon not appearing in the taskbar and when I go onto the Connect To tab in the Start menu, wireless connection is not even there. I don't remember deleting anything or activating anything that would cause this.

Just wondering whether anyone else has this problem and how I can fix it?

    Thanks!

If this is a new problem you might try a System Restore to a point prior to the problem:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

It's not new, I noticed it a couple of months ago and thought nothing of it seeing as though I'm still connected. But I thought earlier, how would I connect to other wireless networks and it's also plain annoying me now. Not knowing whether I'm connected or not.

    SP2 or SP3?

Do you have any Norton software installed?

I have Norton Internet Security 2008 installed, don't know about the SP.

right click My Computer then click Properties

Your XP version will be shown there.

I have Googled this issue and many with the same problem blame Norton.

Do you want to consider removing it?

I recommend not using Norton software but of course it is up to you.

    Service Pack 2.

I'd rather not, I've had Norton a few years now and not caused any problems except this minor one.
Is there any other way of solving it?

SP3 was released about a month ago. You will find it in Windows Update if you want it.

I saw a few instances with registry values that Norton apparently "corrupted". I will try to find these again although I may not get to it till later tonight.
