Wacom
Hello everyone
I have a Wacom Digitizer on my machine. It works just fine, however there is a slight problem. Each time I fire up my computer I am asked to install the Wacom Artpad 12X12 software?
If I say OK it does install automatically, unfortunately it is not the correct software and overwrites my Wacom installation, but if I say 'NO,' all is OK.
May I ask, how can I prevent this happening each time I fire up. It is no problem to say no, but it become a P.I.T.A. to do it all the time? There must be somewhere that Windows is looking at to try to install, but I have no idea where?

There are a few places to look for entries which may be triggering this.
Start, Run, MSCONFIG. The STARTUP tab.
Start, All Programs, Startup.
In the registry. If you are going to attempt registry editing, create a new Restore Point BEFORE you do. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tuto...utorial44.html

Thank you very much Dan. I checked 'Msconfig,' and there were a couple of 'Checked,' boxes which had no information as to what they were there for. I unchecked them and it appears, so far, to be OK.
Thank you again.
take care

You're welcome.
If you find that something is not functioning as it used to prior to changing "no name" things in MSCONFIG, go back and reinstate those elements one at a time. I suggest a reboot at each change. This should help narrow down the culprit.

Hello Dan,
0 out of 10, for me Dan. It is still coming back and wants to install drivers that are quite useless!
0 out of 10, was one of my many school reports, sometimes, '3 out of 10, See me?' followed by a visit to the Head's Office!

Hello Dan
I think that I have now sorted out this wacom-tablet problem. I edited the Registry and removed everything to do with wacom, and then reinstalled the latest drivers. So far, it seems OK.
