Video Problems
Ok, so my computer has been going haywire lately, peripherals crashing, etc. I've gotten just about everything working, except I have random restarts when WoW is running and the only reason I can play it at all is because its being forced to open with Opengl, now I have tried to force the rest of my games to do this, Bioshock, Orange Box, etc. but is doesn't work, the game loads, intro videos and whatnot, but then the menu doesn't show up, its there, but you cant see it, only the menu background. What causes this and what, if anything, is the solution?
I have already rolled-back, and reinstalled the latest drivers.
System Stats:
Nvidia GeForce 7800 GS
AMD 3200+ 2.0gHz
2 GB RAM
Soundblaster Audigy 2 7.1
Chaintech S1689 Motherboard

Uninstall the drivers from Add/Remove programs then reload the latest from NVIDIA.
-
I already did that, I also just did a clean install of windows and installed the latest video card drivers from the site.

Well if the graphics card is still ok I'd suspect the RAM.
Test it:
MemTest
--------------------------------------------------
Try running MemTest.
Beyond that would be heat.
The best/easiest tests are:
RAM
Graphics Card
Heat in general
CPU usage
Also run the hard drive manufacturers diagnostic.

I think the problem is the video card, what is the best way to test this?
-
-
anything other than that?

Not in the realm of the graphics card. There are no specific tests you can run unless you have a electronics lab available to run circuitry tests. If you do not have this at hand it would not be cost effective to attempt it.
In these days if any circuit board is defective the solution is replacement.
The things you can test prior to replacement are:
RAM
PSU
Hard Drive
All other components are tested by trying a replacement.
