Can you now boot the drive into XP?

oh sorry i should have said that, yeah i can now boot into xp and i unisntall the stupid nvidia driver and install the one that came with the video card

yeah all is just fine thanks for your help, and i am gonna run a driver cleaner so i can remove every piece of that bad nvidia driver. i read on one of your post that a lot of people haven't been able to fix their problem with the reboot. maybe they should run a diagnostic too.

I think one should always have a copy of their HDD diagnostic ready to use.

I also use NVIDIA chips sets and always update my drivers with no problem but there are so many variables.

Also I recommend backing up any important data to CD/DVD or external drives.

You will never know when a hard drive will fail and eventually they all will.
