    Most hardware starts with 0.

    Your RAM slots are 0,1,2,3

    Your SATA slots are similar.

Just curious: do you have another operating system on your other hard drive?

No. I was just curious when you mentioned another drive.

It is difficult trying to get the whole picture of a problem with just these words sometimes.

oh what i meant by that was that i have 2 dvd rom, and for some reason the one would not let me load the wd cd properly so i went into the bios selected the other rom and i was able to run the cd properly and create a boot flopy

If the drive is mechanically functional then yes you can access it via your other drive or set it up as a slave or external in any system.

The Lifeguard tool you are running will let you know if the drive is mechanically ok or not.

ok i got another 11 min to go, so let say it is mechanically functional so using my other hdd u will have to let me know how to do that, or is it as simple as setting the jumper for the sata i thought u couldn't set a sata for master or slave.
when i install windows on my other hdd i couldn;t see the sata i bet it was probably because i didn't set the sata as a slave.

The only SATA jumper is for speed. SATA I /SATA II / etc.

There is no slave. Slave/Master is a split channel on IDE ports but SATA runs on a single channel.

Your other hard drive should have detected it.

Assuming your other hard drive has a NTFS file system and not FAT.

my other hard drive has ntfs file system that's what i selected when i install windows but i couldn't see my sata, that was the reason why i install windows on my other drive just so i could see my sata but i didn't.

damn that sounds like it is gonna be bad news man
