As you can see, I left it at programs, I haven't ever switched it to system cache, but for some reason windows is allocating over a GB of system cache.


I do run an Apache web server and a MailEnable email server on this computer, but I haven't changed any settings relating to system cache in order to make them run better.

Does anybody know why it's allocating so much system cache or how to stop it?
It makes programs fail to load or crash a lot, especially when the Available is less than the System Cache

That is not too unusual for a system that has been online for a while.

I doubt it has anything to do with your Page File.

only 3.74 GB... could that be the problem?

Yes. I'd say any system drive over 75% is a problem.

You can move the page file to another drive if you have one.

Otherwise I'd suggest a larger hard drive.

Alright, I cleared out about 20gb on the drive and rebooted... the system cache is at 466000 right now... which is much better. I'll keep an eye on it and hopefully it stays down.
