Can anyone help me with this problem, my laptop does not see the C drive. The other day I tried to open favourites and it was empty, I looked in the recycle bin and was not there, however when I clicked on favourites they opened up. My Avast AV software is not seeing it either as when I click on my computer to set for scan the box disappears, also today I updated Google earth and now it says it cannot see it plus when I press my shortcut buttons it says the path is not there.

If it did not "see" the C: drive then Windows would not work.

Are you saying it is not listed under "My Computer"?

If this is a new problem try a System Restore:
