If the problem started when you installed the ram then I'd assume it's the new ram.

Does the system properties show the correct amount of ram?

Do you have any beeps during or errors during the bios post?

What happens if you take out the new ram and put the old back in?

yes, the system info shows the correct info abt ram..i took out 1 ram..which used to show the memory error..the other ram seems fine..

so 1 new ram works fine the other gives me memory errors n asks me to close the applications like firefox, media player etc etc.. 1st time i formatted my os my ethernet driver wasnt bein detected the 2nd time my graphics card isnt being detected...

i tried installin DAP n it shows this error

but after removing the faulty ram..i downloaded the setup file again of dap..n it installed smoothly

also when i had put in the faulty ram i would get errors like this..

but after removing the ram..so far i haven't got any such errors

atleast memory error issue is solved..nw i just want 2 confirm if i will get corrupt file errors ever again or not..and hw do i go abt gettin my graphics card detected..

First off it is very problematic mixing RAM modules.

All RAM modules should be exact matching pairs.

As to the graphics card find the latest driver from the manufactures web site:

    ATI

    http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

    or

    NVIDIA

    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Also remove your current driver before installing new drivers.
