when i switch the power on the wall to my computer it fires the computer up without switching the switch on on the computer do i need a new switch on the comp any help would be appreciated//

Don't use wall switch.

OK. Is the wall switch in ON position?
If so, tape it that way, so nobody plays with it anymore.
With wall switch on, pushing computer power button does anything?

Look for a BIOS Setting probably under "Power Options" that says: "Restart from power failure"

Disable this feature.
