my windows XP lost its smooth scrolling ability. i've followed recommended fixes (start, tools, internet options, checked smooth scrolling box, rebooted)and still can't scroll. i have to either keep clicking the down key or go to the right and hold down the arrow button. also, when i tap the space bar that will skip down a line or more.
i feel there's an evil spirit lurking in my computer.
Help!!!

Do you have any mouse software installed?

If so check those options.

If not check the options under: Control Panel > Mouse > Wheel

If none of the above help I would suggest uninstalling then reinstalling your graphics drivers.
