Right click the icon in tray and open the control center:

    Open Scheduler then Scheduled Tasks.

    Options are there.

You will see a list of scheduled tasks.

Delete the ones you don't want such as scan and update or just scan.

It is good to have the update run and does not take long.

AVG has a nice feature called real time. What this means is that AVG scans your computer 24/7, but at a much slow pace.

    Just a side note.

    Hi

I hav AVG antivirus and on start up it starts to scan and takes a long time...i can not continue on my PC because the scanning slows it down so much .
I would like to start the AVG scanning manually.

if you go to AVG Test Centre >> Scheduler >> click on test plan in basic mode, then on edit schedule have a look if it set to if missed, start immediately when computer first starts up

what time have you got for the test to run?
