What OS? XP should have built in drivers... Can you use a paralel cable, as when I use paralel with my HP Laserjet, I went to add new printer, found HP, there it was - installed instantly with no discs or anything.
Dunno about Vista though, I've only got Epsons on my Vista machine...
thanks for the response, there is no parralel port on the printer so i have attached it with an rj45 ,i have the printer up and running but i have also got a wireless internet connection and for sme reason i cant use them both at the same time , i have to dissable the internet to use the printer and vise versa, its a bit baffling to say the least
That's really really odd... The only thing I can think of, is that there is some kind of driver conflict or something.....
yes i dont know , i have to dissable my wireless connection to print? that cant be right
well this has come back to haunt me:
i had to reinstall XP ( dont ask) I have the laserjet8150n connected to the PC with a ethernet cable i have created a connection and i can ping the printer < but i cant get any software to install , and if it does its not really there? and doesnt print, i cant for the life of me remember how i did it last time but it was running for about 6 months untill i had to reinstall, i have the network installed to printershare, but i cant seem to install the drivers because the installation software just doesnt see the printer, if i disconnect the printer the network goes down saying a cable is disconnected and i am beat 7 hours on this and i cant do it ,
any body got any ideas, i would be most gratefull
got it fixed in the end had to change the IP address of the printer.
