    illegal system dll relocation

ok folks I am new here, and let me say right off the bat, I know a little about computers but not a heck of a lot.

Everytime I try to install things like regcure, or executables(not all) or torrents(games), or mounting images I get this popup that says (name of the program).exe illegal system dll relocation, plus a little message in the box.

I have read other threads with the somewhat of the same problem and I can never get a clear answer on what to do.

Please help me guys, this is getting very annoying

    Ryan

You could try the following. If it does not help please post the verbatim error message.

Go to Start/Run and type in:

    regsvr32 /i shell32

    Click OK.

    Restart your computer.

okay thanks again for the reply, when I try to open AVG for example it says:

    avgcc.exe- Illegal Sysytem DLL Relocation

The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occured because the DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\SHELL.32dll occupied an adress range reserved for windows system DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL.

I wrote the thingy in the run menu and it said successful , I then restarted it and tried to open AVG V 7.5

Thanks for taking time to try and help me, any other suggestions from you though?

    Start>Run, type in:
    sfc /scannow
    Click OK.
    Have Windows CD handy.
