Hi

I am hoping to format my hard drive and reinstall windows xp.
Trouble is I dont have any windows discs, I simply have the sticker on the side of the machine telling me my registration codes.

How would I go about formatting and reinstalling windows?

If it is a manufactured computer then there might be a recovery partition on the hard drive.

Otherwise the manufacturer will sell you CD's.

Who is the manufacturer?

You need to call your computer's manufacturer and purchase a replacement OEM CD.

I did actually have the back up/restore discs at some point, but can no longer find them.
The computer is a Compaq purchased from PC world.

I think I shall contact PC world first and then Compaq if I get no joy.
